SiNgApOrEaNs...

Lessons ended at 5.45pm. As usual, I took bus A1 to central library bus-stop then cross the road and walk a further 100 m to the 96 bus-stop.. no.. not the central library bus-stop, the crowd is atrocious. So there I was waiting for my bus 96. One came after a few minutes, and to my dismay, was pretty full. Still I boarded it hoping to snatch a seat somehow. As I was walking to board the bus, the girl breezed in front of me and boarded the bus before me. She got a seat. I didn't. And I remain standing for the whole journey because the passengers were glued to their seats like flies on fly-paper.

Finally reached Clementi after a long ride. Alighted and headed for the MRT station. Being the good citizen I am, I walked towards the end of the station. Alas, when the train arrived, it was packed! I exclaimed in my head: What's wrong with these people today, all going home at the same time! But anyhow I managed to squeeze into the train and head for Jurong East. I thought, my luck would be better.

I was half right...

The train to woodlands came and I boarded it. There wasn't much competition since one train just left 1 minute ago. I easily got a seat. Yay! But I noticed that no one was actually rushing for seats! Weird. There was even an empty seat beside me. I didn't really bother about this and went to read the New Paper. Unfortunately my luck ran out once more. After about 10 minutes or so, I heard the following: "Ding dong!, Yew Tee! This train is terminating at Yew Tee! All passengers please alight....." I sighed.. ok at least it explains why there are so few passengers on board.

Finally reached woodlands. I alighted and exited from the station. Went to the DBS bank to cash in some money. Ok.. so I walked a short distance and saw the same queue as usual. So I joined the queue waiting for my turn. I noticed that the PASSBOOK UPDATE machine was not in use. Or so I thought.

I was waiting patiently for my turn when I realised that there were TWO people in front of me using the CASH DEPOSIT machine to UPDATE their passbook! This is so darn STUPID! Don't they know how to READ?! Or they probably don't know how to INSERT a BOOK into the damm HOLE! IDIOT! Holding up the bloody queue. If it was one person, its still okie. But its god damm TWO! and they dun look like those ah-ma or ah-gong. Singaporeans are seriously myopic. Maybe they should have sign that reads:

WARNING! PLEASE GO HERE TO UPDATE YOUR PASSBOOK! DO NOT USE TO THE CASH DEPOSIT MACHINE! FINE $10,000.

But I believe that fines won't work. Singaporeans are singaporeans. They are used to threats from signboards. Sigh..
