ToP oF thE wOrLd...

Been a long time since I last posted. Hasn't been feeling in the mood for it. Now that I've completely recovered from the bout of flu and cough, I may just increase my number of times I post.

Had a really invigorating saturday. Went MacRitchie Reservoir for a 11 km hike up to the HSBC Tree Top Walk. The total length of the walkway is about 250 m and its height from the forest floor varies, with the highest point at 25 m. For more information, visit the National Parks Board website here.

We reached the entrance to the tree top walk at 4:58 PM. Just 2 minutes before they close. Haha.. Had to run the last 100 or so metres to the entrance. Thought we might not make it but in the end we did and the view was simply breath-taking. Not that we can't see such views in Singapore, but there ain't a lot of concrete blocks to ruin this magnificent view.

Enough about the rattling. Pictures speaks a thousand words and I am going to speak tens of thousand words below. ^_^

Beautiful view of the reservoir just before the trail starts.

From another angle. Just below the forest is the boardwalk - a wooden board bordering the edge of the forest and the reservoir.

Can you feel the aura from above?

At peace with the inner self.

What lies beyond? Walk the trail and find out.

The trail is so boring and no scenery. Kidding... Hee hee..

Acting bored again.

It's taken facing the sky so the angle looks a bit wierd. A fallen tree with its lean trunk piercing the sky.

This might clear things up a little.

Macro view of a thorny stem. This tree really needs security.

The whole tree or plant. Whatever..

Anyone care for some mushroom soup?

And we walk on and on and on along the never ending dirt track.

Close to nature...

...and being part of it.

Yay... finally reached the top.

The long walkway.

A bird's eye view of the skyline.

Trees again... with nothing beyond except the clear sky.

Half way across...

More trees and skies.

Even more trees and skies. Getting bored yet?

All the way down!

Looking for something?

Still walking down... This flight of stairs is really long...

Monkey business I

Monkey business II...

Field of lalang... Don't see it anywhere now...

After the hike, headed to Thomson Plaza. Sounds familiar?? It is the old YaoHan. Heh.. Discovered that the place has changed a lot but some familiar stores and restaurants still there. The one I remembered clearly was the KFC. So nostalgic. Walked around for a while then settle for chicken don in the food court. Not too bad.. considering its only 3.50. After dinner, loiter around somemore before heading home for a refreshing shower.

Sunday came and did nothing except watch my webcast and did some tutorials. Sigh, another long day tomolo. Dread the ES lessons more and more... can't wait for this semester to end...

Time to ZzZ... biosynthesis out.
