ChiNaToWn siGhTs & sOunDs...

Went down to Chinatown last night to soak in the atomsphere. Normally wouldn't want to squeeze my way in the crowd but yesterday I felt inspirational and decided that I should go down and look look see see.

It was really crowded, especially the various stalls selling all sorts of odds and ends. Food stores were abundant and so were hawkers selling couplets and various gold and red decors.

Caught a couple of pics. But didn't managed to snap the fire crackers going off. It was real crowded. Following the fire crackers were the fireworks which fortunately for us, got a pretty decent location to take these sparkles.

Here goes the pics...

The Rooster that was in the middle of Eu Tong Seng Street near the stage where the mediacorp artistes were performing.

The other much bigger Rooster at the other end of the street.

Various brightly lid decors lined the entire stretch of the road.

Another shot at the beautiful decors.

Close up of one of the dragon decorations.

Posing with the colourful background.

Have you seen that many melon seeds before? In so many colours? Besides the white and black, there is also red melon seeds.

Now, this is some crowd. People mountain people sea.

Odd shaped pomelos. There's a baduku on the top of every pomelo.

Not sure whether is this mexican ice-cream or what but this guy is really skilful. Here seen playing tricks on xiao mei mei. He is so agile with his hands.

Real wheatgrass drink. And those green pastures you see are real grasses, not plastic ones. Suppose to aid in digestion.

A side performance apparently for Tiger Beer staff. Wasn't that interesting though.

Setting off the firecracks. Can't see the fire crackers. But this is where the fire crackers were lit.

Fireworks after the crackers.

Fireworks 2.

Fireworks 3.

Uprising Part 1.

Uprising Part 2.

Uprising finale.

Meteor Showers. This time from the ground to the sky.

Flashes of glittering gold.

This reminds me of the fireworks used during NDP. Are these the left-overs? But nevertheless beautiful.

Picture's not blur. It's the smoke from the firecrackers.

Mixture of blue, green and gold.

God of Fortune. Can you believe that you have to queue to take a picture with him?

Just one of the many shops having last minute sale.

Sea of red and gold. Really dazzling.

Just one last firework shot. Brilliant flare of white.

祝贺大家 恭喜发财, 财源广进.
